Humanitarian Aid Delivery
Over the past year, Operation SafeDrop’s commitment to delivering humanitarian aid has been unwavering. Since the start of our operation, we have orchestrated the delivery of over 1382 tonnes of vital supplies, equivalent to 468 van loads, to areas in highest need across Ukraine. These numbers stand as a testament to the scale of our efforts and the tangible impact we’ve made on the ground.
We have delivered to over 100 institutions, including hospitals, community aid hubs, orphanages, and IDP shelters across 23 Oblasts. Through local partnerships with committed Ukrainian organisations, we’ve provided immediate relief for hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians.
Our main focus has been on front-line aid delivery, in Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Donetsk Oblasts. Our teams have traversed challenging terrain and extremely hostile locations to ensure that aid reaches those who need it the most. Our new fleet of customised vehicles allows us to access locations that are impossible for many vehicles to reach. Our mission extends beyond just delivering supplies; it’s about providing a lifeline to those in dire circumstances and showing them that they are not alone in their struggle.
Our operation has fed 31,462 people for a week, delivered 22,941 days of drinking water, clothing and bedding for over 111,000 people, a months hygiene and sanitary supplies for over 285,900 people and over 19 million items of medical equipment including 8 million needles and syringes to medical facilities across Ukraine.
We also provided 5 ambulances for the Kharkiv region, purchased and transported from the UK. These have provided vital support for paramedics in one of the worst-hit areas of the country, and came kitted out with specialist medical equipment for front-line areas of eastern Ukraine.
Over the next year, we plan to significantly increase our coverage supporting more communities in the Oblasts in which we work. The development of our SafeDrop South and SafeDrop East programs will enable us to help thousands more Ukrainian families a week and ensure that the humanitarian aid we have available matches the needs of the populations we serve.
